Build Your Garment Sewing Skills with Peggy Sagers

We’re excited to introduce Stitch Nation, an exclusive garment sewing education program featuring Peggy Sagers, host of the PBS series Fit 2 Stitch and designer of Silhouette Patterns.

Whether you’re new to garment sewing or looking to take your skills further, Stitch Nation is a fun, educational way to learn about fitting, construction, fabrics, sewing techniques and achieving professional results.

Learn Something New Every Month!

From September 2026 through September 2027, Peggy Sagers will present an exclusive one-hour lesson each month. Topics will vary and may include garment fitting, construction techniques, fabric considerations, sewing skills, problem-solving and professional sewing tips.

Some months will feature a specific garment project and pattern, while others will focus on important sewing and fitting techniques.

The program builds from month to month, helping you grow your garment sewing skills and confidence along the way.

Join us at Tom’s Sewing Centre to watch the monthly video with fellow garment sewists, learn from Peggy and take those new skills home with you.

There is no sewing during the video session. Come, relax, learn and be inspired!

After September, an active Stitch Nation membership is required to attend the monthly sessions.

Stitch Nation Membership & Registration

Annual membership is $59.99 US and is purchased directly through Stitch Nation.

To register:

1. Visit https://fit2stitch.com/stitch-nation.html
2. Search for Tom’s Sewing Centre.
3. Click on the picture of our store.
4. Follow the registration instructions and pay the annual membership fee.
5. Register for our class so we know you are coming.

Your membership includes access to the 12 monthly lessons, which we will stream in-store at no additional charge.

Because the program builds throughout the year, members joining after September will need to catch up on previous lessons.

Want to Make the Featured Project?

When a lesson includes a garment project, the featured pattern will be available separately through Tom’s Sewing Centre. Patterns are not included with membership.

After the video session, you can take the project home and sew it yourself, or, if you would like extra help, we will offer a separate fitting class after the pattern arrives.

Donna Robinson will help with fitting, pattern adjustments and construction questions related to the featured project.

The fitting class is optional and is not required to participate in Stitch Nation. Not every month will include a project or a fitting class.
