Build Your Garment Sewing Skills with Peggy Sagers

We’re excited to introduce Stitch Nation, an exclusive garment sewing education program featuring Peggy Sagers, host of the PBS series Fit 2 Stitch and designer of Silhouette Patterns.

Stitch Nation is designed to help garment sewists improve their fitting, construction and sewing techniques while building the confidence to achieve professional-looking results.

How It Works

Stitch Nation is an annual membership program running from September 2026 through September 2027.

Each month, Peggy Sagers presents an exclusive one-hour lesson focusing on garment sewing education. Lessons may include:

• Garment fitting and design
• Construction techniques
• Sewing skills and techniques
• Fabric and garment considerations
• Tips for achieving professional results
• Important garment sewing concepts and problem-solving

Some months will feature a specific garment project and pattern, while other months may focus entirely on important sewing techniques, fitting concepts or garment construction discussions.

The program is designed to build from month to month, with each lesson adding to the skills and knowledge learned previously.

Join us for the September session as a trial! You can attend the September 29 video viewing to experience the program before deciding whether to become a member.

After September, attendance at the monthly Stitch Nation video sessions will require an active Stitch Nation membership.

Stitch Nation Membership

Membership is $59.99 US for the year and must be purchased directly through Stitch Nation.

Your membership gives you access to the 12 monthly lessons, which we will stream in-store at no additional charge.

Because the program is progressive, members joining after the program has started will need to catch up on previous lessons. This ensures that everyone has the foundation needed to follow the program as it develops.

Want to Make the Featured Project?

When a monthly lesson includes a garment project, the featured pattern will be available for purchase separately through Tom’s Sewing Centre.

Patterns are not included with Stitch Nation membership and must be purchased separately.

You are welcome to take what you learn from the monthly lesson and go home and sew the project on your own.

Prefer Some Extra Help?

For those who would like hands-on assistance, Donna Robinson, our instructor, will offer an optional sewing class following selected Stitch Nation projects.

This is a separate class and is not required to participate in Stitch Nation.

The hands-on class is a great opportunity to work on the featured project with Donna, ask questions, receive guidance and put the techniques from the Stitch Nation lesson into practice.

Class length will vary depending on the project, and not every month will necessarily have an accompanying hands-on class.
