Serger Club - Ruffled Decorative Tea Towel
Serger Club: Project Series – Ruffled Tea Towel
Join us for our brand new Serger Club, where each class features a hands-on project designed to help you build your skills and confidence using your serger. Whether you're a seasoned serger user or just getting started, you’ll learn new techniques, try creative finishes, and leave with something beautiful and functional each time.
Project 1: Ruffled Decorative Tea Towel
In this kickoff session, we’ll create a charming ruffled-edge tea towel—perfect for gifting or sprucing up your own kitchen! You’ll learn how to use a 3-thread overlock and a rolled hem to create a professional ruffled edge.
Love embroidery? Feel free to come with your tea towel already embroidered to add a personal touch—completely optional, but totally welcome!
Have a coverstitch machine? Great! We’ll also explore how to use the cover chain stitch to add a decorative finish. Don’t have one? No problem—we’ll have a coverstitch machine set up with gold metallic thread so you can give it a try.
Important: You must bring a working serger to class and have completed Serger Level 1 and Serger Level 2, or speak with Monica prior to class to confirm you're comfortable operating your machine. This class focuses on building technique—not on basic machine operation.
Come ready to serge, learn, and have fun with fellow makers!
