Santa Fe: Panels & Illusions
Santa Fe: Panels & Illusions
Join us for the first class in our new Panel Perfect Series featuring quilts from the popular Panel Perfect 3-Yard Quilts book by Donna Robertson and Fran Morgan. In this session, we will create the striking Santa Fe quilt, a design that uses light and dark fabrics to create a beautiful optical illusion full of movement and depth.
This quilt is designed around 10" feature blocks, making it perfect for showcasing favorite fabric panels, themed blocks, or coordinating prints. Students will also learn how to create the alternate border block using a stitch-and-flip technique that adds dramatic framing and visual impact around each panel block.
Techniques covered include:
• Working with 10" panel blocks or feature fabrics
• Creating light and dark value contrast for visual effect
• Stitch-and-flip piecing techniques
• Constructing dynamic border
• Quilt layout and assembly tips
This class is great for quilters looking to build confidence with color placement and precision piecing while creating a quilt with a dramatic and eye-catching design.
