PFAFF® Clear N Melt Stabilizer – 12 Inches x 10 Yards
PFAFF® Clear N’ Melt is a heat-dissolvable film that can be used as either a topping or backing for machine embroidery. It helps prevent stitches from sinking into nap, pile, uneven surfaces, and coarse-weave fabrics. Unlike water-soluble films, Clear N’ Melt disappears with low to medium heat from an iron, leaving tiny particles that can be brushed away.
When to Use
Use Clear N’ Melt:
-
As a topping on nap, pile, uneven, or coarse-weave fabrics to keep the fabric from showing through the stitches or causing stitches to sink.
-
As a backing for designs with fill areas, monograms, and appliqué on stable fabrics.
Do not use it for lace or designs with very small open areas, where the iron cannot make direct contact with the film.
How to Use
-
For topping: Place the film on top of the fabric before hooping, or hoop the fabric and add the film on top. Use the machine's basting stitch, if available, to hold it in place.
-
For backing: Place the film on the wrong side of the fabric and hoop as one piece.
- After stitching, tear away as much film as possible.
- Using a dry iron on low to medium heat, move the iron back and forth over the remaining film. It will dissipate into tiny particles that can be brushed away.
- Direct contact with the iron is necessary for complete removal.
Important: Never use a hot iron.
