PFAFF® Chenille Foot for IDT™ System

Create beautiful chenille effects and textured embellishments with the PFAFF® Chenille Foot. Designed to guide and stitch layers of chenille strips onto your fabric, this specialty foot makes it easy to add soft, dimensional texture to quilts, garments, accessories and home décor projects.

The foot keeps the chenille strips aligned while stitching, allowing you to create multiple rows and build a rich chenille effect. Once sewn, simply brush the strips with a stiff brush to open and fray the layers.

How to Use

1. Thread Your Machine: Use regular sewing thread in the needle and bobbin.
2. Select Your Stitch: Choose a straight or zigzag stitch with a short stitch length and narrow stitch width. A three-step zigzag with a stitch width of approximately 1.5 is another option.
3. Position the Strips: Place three layers of chenille strips into the presser foot as directed.
4. Attach the Foot: Snap on the Chenille Foot.
5. Engage the IDT™ System: Activate the IDT™ System for smooth and even fabric feeding.
6. Sew: Carefully sew over the chenille strips, allowing the foot to guide them onto the fabric while the stitching forms down the center of the strips. A stabilizer may be needed underneath the fabric.
7. Add Additional Rows: Repeat the process to add more rows of chenille strips and build your desired effect.
8. Create the Chenille Effect: Once stitching is complete, rub the strips with a stiff brush to fray and open the layers.

Tip: Test your stitch settings on a scrap piece first to achieve the desired chenille effect.
