Create Perfectly Parallel Decorative Stitches

The PFAFF® Multi-Line Decorative Foot makes it easy to create evenly spaced, parallel rows of decorative stitching. The clear foot provides excellent visibility, while the built-in red guidelines help you accurately align each row, match starting points, and turn corners. It can also be used as a guide when sewing Maxi stitches.

How to Use – Decorative Borders

1. Disengage the IDT™ System.
2. Snap on the Multi-Line Decorative Foot.
3. Select a decorative stitch.
4. Mark a line on the fabric where the center of the stitching will be.
5. Place Tear-Away stabilizer under the fabric.
6. Place the fabric under the presser foot, aligning the red center mark with the marked line on the fabric.
7. Sew the first row of decorative stitching.
8. Select another decorative stitch or continue with the same stitch.
9. Move the fabric to the left and decide the desired spacing between rows.
10. Use the red horizontal lines to match the starting point of each new row.
11. Sew the next row, using the red vertical lines on the foot as a guide.
12. Continue moving the fabric and sewing additional rows to create your desired border.
13. Add as many rows and stitches as desired.
14. Remove the stabilizer when finished.

How to Use – Maxi Stitches

1. Disengage the IDT™ System.
2. Snap on the Multi-Line Decorative Foot.
3. Select a Maxi stitch.
4. Draw a line on the fabric where the center of the stitching will be. For additional guidance, mark one or two lines on each side of the center line.
5. Place Tear-Away stabilizer under the fabric.
6. Sew carefully, allowing the machine to control the fabric feeding.
7. Keep the marked lines and the vertical red lines on both sides of the presser foot parallel to each other as you sew.
8. Remove the stabilizer when finished.
