PFAFF® Dissolve-A-Way Max Stabilizer – 12 Inches x 10 Yards
PFAFF® Dissolve-A-Way Max 821415096 is a maximum heavy-weight, water-soluble film designed for high stitch counts, heavier thread weights, and high-nap fabrics. It provides extra support as a topping or stabilizer and completely dissolves in water when no permanent backing is desired.
When to Use
Use Dissolve-A-Way Max as a topping for:
- High-nap or high-loft fabrics
- Heavy terry cloth, corduroy, and fleece
- Medium-weight, coarse-weave fabrics such as duck cloth
- Designs with high stitch counts or heavier thread weights
Use it as a stabilizer-only for:
- High-density lace embroidery
- Heavier thread-weight designs
- Multi-layer or heavier appliqué
- Dense 3-D thread and yarn designs
- Cutwork and other projects where complete stabilizer removal is desired
How to Use
For Topping:
- Place Dissolve-A-Way Max on top of the fabric and hoop normally, then embroider.
- Alternatively, hoop the fabric first, place the film on top, and secure it with a basting stitch before embroidering.
For Stabilizer-Only Embroidery:
- Hoop 1–2 layers of Dissolve-A-Way Max, gently tightening the edges without stretching the film.
- Stitch the design.
- Tear away as much excess film as possible.
- Soak in a warm water bath for about 10 minutes, moving the item continuously until the remaining film dissolves. Rinse with warm water.
- For additional removal options, use medium to heavy steam or moisten and blot the remaining film with a wet sponge.
- Lay the finished item flat to dry.
