PFAFF® Couching / Braiding Foot for IDT™ System
Create beautiful decorative trims and textured embellishments with the PFAFF® Couching / Braiding Foot. Designed to guide yarn, cords, narrow satin ribbon, soutache braid and other decorative materials as you sew over them with your machine’s decorative stitches.
Use the foot to follow pre-marked designs or create free-form lines and waves for unique textured effects. Experiment with different cords, yarns and colours to create dimensional embellishments on garments, quilts, accessories and home décor projects.

How to Use
- Thread Your Machine: Use matching, invisible or decorative embroidery thread, depending on your desired finish.
- Insert the Cord: Feed the cording or tape from the front of the foot through the eyelet-style guide, then through the front opening and underneath the foot toward the back.
- Engage the IDT™ System: Activate the IDT™ System if available on your machine.
- Select Your Stitch: Choose a zigzag, blind hem or decorative stitch. Follow pre-marked design lines, or sew random lines and waves for a free-form textured effect.
Tip: Experiment with several smaller cords or yarns twisted together to create additional texture. Combining different colours can also create unique decorative effects.
