PFAFF® Aqua Magic Stabilizer – 15 Inches x 10 Yards
PFAFF® Aqua Magic 821423096 is a soft, fabric-like water-soluble stabilizer that dissolves completely in water. It is ideal when you want 100% of the stabilizer removed, leaving the finished embroidery soft and pliable rather than stiff.
When to Use
Use Aqua Magic for:
- Free-standing lace
- Emblems and 3-D appliqué pieces
- Cutwork designs
- Embroidery where the stabilizer needs to completely disappear
It can also be used as a stiffener by leaving some stabilizer in place rather than rinsing it completely away. Use one or two layers for most designs; additional layers may be needed for dense designs or heavier thread.
How to Use
- Cut the stabilizer to fit the selected hoop, allowing at least 1" beyond the hoop on all sides.
- Hoop one or two layers tautly and stitch the design. When used with fabric, place Aqua Magic underneath and hoop both layers together.
- After stitching, cut away any large pieces of stabilizer.
- Submerge the embroidery in plenty of very warm to hot water, moving it continuously to help dissolve the remaining fibers.
- Soak for at least 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with very warm water. Repeat as needed for dense designs or heavier fabrics.
- Place the finished item on a flat surface and allow it to dry completely.
