How to Use

Gathering a Single Layer of Fabric:

1. Attach the Gathering Foot to your sewing machine.

2. Select a straight stitch and increase the stitch length.

3. Place your fabric under the presser foot.

4. Begin sewing, allowing the foot to gather the fabric as you stitch.

5. Adjust the stitch length and upper thread tension to achieve the desired fullness.

Gathering and Attaching Two Fabric Layers:

1. Position the fabric to be gathered underneath the Gathering Foot.

2. Place the flat fabric layer into the foot's upper slot, keeping the right sides of the fabrics together.

3. Sew slowly, guiding both layers evenly as the lower fabric gathers and attaches to the upper fabric.

4. Adjust your stitch settings to control the amount of gathering.

Helpful Sewing Tips

• Experiment with Stitch Length: Longer stitches generally create fuller gathers.
• Test on Scrap Fabric: Different fabric weights and textures will gather differently, so test your settings before beginning your project.
• Use Lightweight Fabrics: Gathering works particularly well with lightweight to medium-weight fabrics.
• Disengage the IDT™ System: Disengage the IDT™ System when using the Gathering Foot.
