How to Use

1. Disengage the IDT™ System.

2. Completely loosen the presser foot ankle screw and remove the ankle.

3. Position the Free-Motion Echo Quilting Foot around the presser bar and secure it using the screw included with the foot.

4. Thread your sewing machine and select a straight stitch.

5. Set your PFAFF® sewing machine to Sensormatic free-motion mode. The feed dogs will lower automatically.

6. Bring the bobbin thread to the top by taking one stitch. Hold both threads and sew a few stitches in place to secure them.

7. Begin quilting, maintaining a consistent sewing speed while moving the fabric smoothly in your desired direction.

8. Stitch around your quilting motif, appliqué or pattern, keeping a uniform distance from the design.

9. Sew additional rows around your first line of stitching, using the red guide markings on the foot to maintain even spacing.

10. Repeat as desired to create beautiful echo quilting effects.

Helpful Quilting Tips

• Control Your Stitch Length: With the feed dogs lowered, you control the stitch length by how quickly you move the fabric.
• Maintain Even Spacing: Use the red markings on the foot as a guide when stitching multiple rows around a design.
• Understand Sensormatic Free-Motion Mode: At slower speeds, the foot raises and lowers with each stitch to hold the fabric against the needle plate. At higher speeds, the foot floats above the fabric for smooth free-motion stitching.
