How to Use

1. Attach the Foot: Snap the Clear Stitch-in-Ditch Foot onto your PFAFF® sewing machine.

2. Engage the IDT™ System: Activate the Original IDT™ System for even feeding of your quilt layers.

3. Select Your Stitch: Choose a straight stitch or another stitch with a centred needle position, such as a reinforced straight stitch or hand-look quilt stitch.

4. Position Your Quilt: Place your quilt under the presser foot with the centre guide positioned directly in the seam (ditch) between the pieced quilt patches.

5. Begin Quilting: Sew along the seam, allowing the guide to follow the stitching line for accurate, even quilting.

Helpful Sewing Tips

• Press Seams Consistently: Well-pressed seams help the guide follow the ditch accurately.
• Use a Suitable Quilting Needle: Choose a needle appropriate for your quilt fabric, batting and thread.
• Let the Guide Do the Work: Gently guide your quilt while allowing the centre guide to follow the seam.
• Try Decorative Effects: Experiment with centred needle stitches to create different quilting finishes.

Important Note

When using Stitch-in-Ditch Feet with the IDT™ System on machines with a manual presser foot lift, avoid raising the presser foot to the extra-high position, as the needle holder may contact the guide on the foot.

When pivoting with the needle in the down position, raise the presser foot only as high as necessary to turn the fabric freely.
